Hola mi nombre es Victor Piverno y soy un artista cubano que vive y trabaja en Madrid.

Quería agradecer la colaboración a The Cuban Arts Group (TCAG) en estos últimos años por el apoyo que nos ha dado, no solo a mi, sino también al colectivo de artistas con el que trabajamos acá, fundamentalmente en el proyecto Tierras.

Un proyecto de exposición que se hizo hace unos tres años, donde inauguramos con Balada Tropical, un colectivo de artistas cubanos del cual formo parte,  y Dayana Trigo, que ahora forma parte de Late Studio Society, del cual es una fundadora. Luego de este apoyo tremendo que hizo que Late Studio Society se fundara como asociación, de hecho siendo ahora una asociación sin ánimos de lucro y un hogar para muchísimos artistas cubanos: músicos, artistas visuales, cineastas.

Luego de esto y esta confluencia, TCAG apoyó The Right to Look una exposición que hice junto a Manuela Lalique una artista canadiense, este año en el marco de PhotoEspaña. Esta exposición que por la emergencia tuvo una velocidad tremenda y aún así TCAG apoyó y nos ayudó digamos con un interés bien marcado.

Pues nada agradecer infinitamente este apoyo, este acercamiento que no tiene solo con nosotros, sino también con todo el marco de artistas cubanos en general, y sobre todo aquí en Madrid es notable la visibilidad y la seguridad que nos aporta poder contar con ellos.

Que sean unas celebraciones tremendas y buen fin de año.

Hello, my name is Victor Piverno, and I am a Cuban artist who lives and works in Madrid.

I would like to thank The Cuban Arts Group (TCAG) for their collaboration over the past few years  and for the support they have given—not only to me, but also to the collective of artists we work with here, especially through the project Tierras.

Tierras was an exhibition project that took place about three years ago. It marked the inauguration of Late Studio Society. The exhibition brought together the artists of Balada Tropical, a collective of Cuban artists of which I am a member, along with Dayana Trigo, who is now part of Late Studio Society and one of its founders. That tremendous support led to the creation of Late Studio Society as an association, which is now a nonprofit organization and a home for many Cuban artists—musicians, visual artists, and filmmakers.

Following this convergence, TCAG also supported The Right to Look, an exhibition I presented together with Canadian artist Manuela Lalique this year as part of PhotoEspaña. Due to the emergency situation, the exhibition came together very quickly, and even so, TCAG supported us with great commitment and a clearly demonstrated interest.

I am deeply grateful for this support and for the closeness TCAG maintains—not only with us, but with Cuban artists more broadly. Here in Madrid especially, their presence provides visibility and a sense of security that is truly meaningful.
