Tampa International Airport is primed to get its first Cuban artist to show his work as part of the nearly $1 billion master plan expansion.

The Hillsborough County Aviation Authority will vote Thursday to contract with Cuban artist Esterio Segura to have him display his installation piece: “Good Bye My Love Tampa Seven Days a Week.”

Tampa International Airport is getting seven new planes. But not the kind you would first expect.

The red model planes, with wingspans ranging from 10 to 16 feet, will be suspended from the ceiling in Airside F as the latest public art project approved in the airport's big redevelopment project.
