Esterio Segura’s Talk

Las Cruces Museum of Art organized on Wednesday, October 7 a virtual talk by Cuban artist Esterio Segura. Mr. Segura is a featured artist in the "Arte Cubano" exhibition that is on view at the museum.

Esterio Segura is a contemporary artist based out of Havana, Cuba. He has a background in sculpture and currently works in a diverse range of media including drawing, painting, printmaking, and installations. The imagery in his art takes inspiration from mythology, religion, pop culture, and symbolism, while the overarching themes are tied to many social and political situations in Cuba such as isolation, censorship, migration, and commercialization, among others. Mr. Segura has exhibited extensively in Cuba and his art is featured in solo and group exhibitions in Mexico, the United States, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Portugal, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Spain, Ecuador, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and elsewhere in the world.
